ABOUT US
Organization
Artesian Invitational is a Indiana Not-for-Profit Corporation and is a sanctioned activity with the Mid-States Band Association. Artesian Invitational, Inc. is a non-profit 501C3 organization founded in 2003 for the sole purpose of presenting a band contest at Martinsville High School. 2010 Board Members Jerry Vest, President Shelli Hazel & Monica Bolin, Co-Vice Presidents Jennifer Paul, Treasurer Gail Wilkerson, Secretary.
Mission
The mission of Artesian Invitational is to provide a showcase for high school marching bands and to promote music and the arts within the community.
Format
There are five divisions based on the size of the band: A, AA, AAA, AAAA and Open. "A" is for smaller bands and "Open" is for the largest bands. Classifications are determined by the number of winds, percussion and electronics performers. Bands are judged by national recognized judges from the Central States Judges Association.
